More Than Medicine

"A person can’t avoid fate, but they can control the way they respond to it."

For Mina, a cancer patient living in Kathmandu, traveling the 200 kilometers (125 miles) to her hospital was very difficult. Landslides in the area made the journey especially long, and many roads unpassable. As a result, Mina could not make it to see her doctor and was not able to take her medication for 2 months.

Books Inspire Readers of All Ages in Kenya

Books For Africa is pleased to share the latest report from Kenya from librarian Esther Muinde, a recipient of Kenya Connect in Wamunyu, Kenya. She reports on the progress and usefulness of the community library, comprising 30,000 books, over half of which were supplied by Books For Africa. The library program had previously operated as a mobile library with books transported around. But with the latest shipment from Books For Africa, they have been able to stock a full in-house library!
