His Son is Alive Today Because of “Protesters”

Not long ago, while I was standing outside an abortion clinic offering resources and help to the women entering and encouraging each one to give her baby life, a man pulled his car to the curb and beckoned me over. He said that he and his wife had gone to a clinic to abort their son some time before. "Praise God, there were protesters and my wife got convicted. She didn't want to do it anymore and I said, 'Let's not do it.' So we left. I never got to say thank you, so I wanted to stop today and thank you for what you're doing."

Fighting Back Against Surveillance

For over 30 years, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has been the leading nonprofit on the frontlines of fighting for your digital rights, including free expression, privacy, security, and more.

You can boil EFF’s mission down to this: we want to ensure that users retain and gain rights rather than lose them as everyone’s use and reliance on technology grows. EFF’s work is only possible with support from people like you, donating to support the lawyers, activists, technologists, and others who fight these battles across the globe, in courts, in code, and on the streets.

MVA is Fighting for Our Veterans

Steve Huenemeier had won a disability rating at 70% disability by Veterans Affairs, but felt he was entitled for Total Disability Individual Unemployability. But the VA denied Steve each time after his compensation and pension exams. Steve was active in one of the Military-Veterans Advocacy Facebook groups for our members and connected with our MVA Director of Litigation, Robin Hood. Robin provided Steve with some of the information he was looking for, but Steve still kept getting nowhere with his claim.

The Right to Vote

Dating back to the racist Jim Crow Era, felony disfranchisement laws were created in the states after the Civil War as an intentional effort to weaken the political power of Black people who had been enslaved. That time was also when the abominable effort began to incarcerate Black people who were newly freed. The narrative linking the right to vote to incarceration is fundamentally undemocratic. That is why the ACLU is determined to help restore the right to vote to all those who are currently incarcerated.

ENDING SUFFERING AND IMPROVING THE OUTCOMES OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, CHILD ABUSE AND SEX TRAFFICKING-- GIVING A VOICE TO THE VOICELESS AND HOPE TO THE HOPELESS

National Victim Advocacy Alliance is committed to the safety and well-being of our clients, and we take the necessary and crucial steps to always protect our client’s identity; therefore, client details are altered for their protection. Our clients are more than “numbers” to us, but here we are using a number to shield the identity of the client as an added measure of security.
